Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the outer surfaces of teeth to conceal external imperfections. The porcelain looks and feels totally natural and will not stain. At the first appointment, the teeth are conservatively prepared to make room for the veneers. Using a putty material, an impression of the prepared teeth is taken and sent to a dental lab, where skilled dental technicians fabricate the custom made porcelain veneers. Temporary veneers are placed on your prepared teeth, while we wait for the dental lab to fabricate the permanent veneers. The dental lab usually sends the completed veneers to our office within a couple of weeks from the first appointment. At the second appointment, the temporary veneers are removed and the permanent ones are tried in your mouth. If you are happy with the colour, shape, and feel of the veneers, they are cemented permanently in place and you can enjoy your new smile.
